BABIES
Age 1 to 12 monthsYour baby will give you the most important information—how he or she likes to be treated, talked to, held, and comforted. This section addresses the most common questions about a baby’s development during the first year of their life. We have gathered most recent information from American Academy of Pediatrics, Office of Child Development, CDC and Triple P. Cornerstone will also provide a list of fun activities that you and your baby can do together.
Toddlers
Age 12 to 36 monthsA toddler is a child 12 to 36 months old. The toddler years are a time of great cognitive, emotional and social development. Toddlers are so much fun, yet so challenging at the same time!o. Crawling vigorously, starting to walk, even talking a little, all emerge as your baby enters her second year.. Exploring the boundaries established by your rules and her own physical and developmental limits will occupy much of her time for the next few years.
Pre School
Age 4 to 6With your child’s third birthday, the “terrible twos” are officially over and the “magic years” of three and four begin—a time when your child’s world will be dominated by fantasy and vivid imagination. During the next two years, he’ll mature in many areas. We have gathered most recent information from American Academy of Pediatrics, Office of Child Development, CDC and Triple P. Cornerstone will also provide a list of fun activities that you and your preschooler can do together.
Families
All AgesParenting is the hardest job there is. It’s the most rewarding job, too, though the “rewarding” part can sometimes be hard to see. Families can be overwhelmed by all the different strategies to raise a child the “right way.” And you will think, which one is the best fit for our family? What if we feel like we don’t know what we’re doing? What if we don’t do it perfectly?” The truth is, there is no such thing as “perfect parenting.” Bringing new human beings into the world doesn’t make us less human.
Cornerstone's Spotlight Child
Meet Daniel Possiel. Daniel has grown so much over the past year. Daniel was born with a hole in his heart (AVSD heart defect) that required open heart surgery when he was 5 months old. Now at 13 months old, his heart is strong, and he has been making amazing developmental strides. Daniel loves to laugh and wrestle with his brother and sister and give high fives. He has been a huge blessing to his family and those he meets. His smile will cause your heart to melt!
